Karl Kernberger, 1938 - 1997, gifted photographer and public television producer. Guided by cultural interest and sensitivity, he was always up for new adventures. Working primarily in New Mexico, he also photographed the Navajo, Hopi, Tarahumara / Raramuri, Huichol, and other indigenous people and their rock art (petroglyphs, pictographs). Other projects were the Yukon River, the 1980 reenactment of the run which initiated the Pueblo Revolt of 1680, the Sun Dagger in Chaco Canyon, Yochien in Kōbe, Japan, and Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia.
